"He just looks PERFECT!"

The doctor said this to us multiple times at our appointment today, and of course, we wholeheartedly agree! :) We survived the 4 month check-up and shots! Jeremiah actually did awesome-- he recovered from the 3 shots very quickly. He was not too keen on the oral rotavirus vaccine this time (he made some pretty funny faces!), but he did finally chug it all down. Mommy also handled the shots better this time-- no crying! And on the way home from the doctor, Jeremiah did this:

Notice Linus' tight grip on his security blanket. :)

I am just so thankful that we have been blessed with a happy, healthy baby. I don't think we could ask for a more content little guy-- he puts up with us taking him out (even past his bedtime once in a while), driving in the car for hours on roadtrips, etc. And he just goes with the flow! Of course, he does have his moments (last night was one of those times). He SCREAMED and SCREAMED and nothing helped! We think that he is possibly teething... the past couple days he's been drooling (he's been a drooler for the past month or so, actually), chewing on toys and fingers, being fussy, having feeding issues... all the classic signs (according to babycenter.com at least!) Plus, Adam got his first tooth at 4 months, so we'll just go ahead and blame this all on him. :) Of course, this morning Jeremiah was happy as could be. Go figure.

And now, Jeremiah's stats at 4 months! He weighs 17 lbs even, putting him in the 90th percentile for weight. And he is 26 1/2 inches long, putting him in the 97th percentile for height. Head circumference-- 80th percentile. Take all of that and add to it his head full of hair (complete with the "Grandpa Wiers" hair part), and we have ourselves a full-grown 3 year old. Just kidding. But the doctor did say that he is the size of the average 7 month old! Which explains why 9 month clothes are fitting him perfectly right now. :) Plus, he's doing all the normal things for this age-- smiling, talking (and also shrieking), grabbing for toys, etc. What a guy! We might start giving cereal a try, although we know that he probably won't be totally ready for it for another month or 2. Here are some pics for you to enjoy:

I'm afraid he won't be smiling so big once the Tylenol wears off!

Jeremiah and his big sister, playing with toys on the floor. :)

And I need to give a shout-out to Jeremiah's daddy, who celebrated his first Father's Day on Sunday! Adam is the BEST dad-- among other wonderful things, he gets up with us for night feedings to do the burping, etc. Seriously, I don't think that many dads do that, at least not for 4 months straight! We love you, Adam-- thanks for being the best daddy (and husband)!

  1. Yeay Jeremiah!! He's a big boy & looks SO happy - I hope we get to meet him in July when you're in GH. :0]

And Jordan started the single grain oatmeal at 4 months every day for breakfast -- so you never know what they might be ready for!

  2. You do not have to lift weights for exercise, just pick up Jeremiah a few times and you have your workout. Adorable pictures! Aunt JoAnne
